Cookie Policy

The cookies and browser storage Sayaara Tag uses, and your choices.
1. What we use and why
Cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) are small pieces of data saved on your device. We use them only for the purposes below. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. Strictly necessary
These are needed for the Service to work and cannot be switched off:
- Sign-in session cookies set by our authentication provider (Supabase) — keep you signed in.
- Language preference — remembers English or Arabic.
- Your analytics choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask again.
3. Preferences
- Theme — remembers light or dark mode (stored in your browser only).
- Nearby reports — if you report a place on the Nearby map, a list of your reports is kept in your browser only.
4. Analytics (optional)
If you click Accept on the banner, PostHog analytics stores an identifier in cookies/localStorage and records pages you visit and actions you take, to help us improve the Service. Nothing is stored or recorded for analytics until you accept. You can change your choice at any time in Profile → Privacy & data (when signed in) or by clearing your browser storage.
5. Third-party content
The Nearby map loads map images from OpenStreetMap. We do not set cookies for this, but OpenStreetMap receives your IP address as part of loading the images.
6. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working.
